In the Chief Administrative Officer’s Office
The City Clerk’s Office runs a continuous advertisement for the following positions:
- Accountants – Responsible for applying principles of accounting to record, analyze, and monitor financial operations of the City of Starke. In this role, the accountants assists the Finance Director with overseeing the daily accounting functions and records, and provides financial information to the City’s departments, City Clerk and grant administrators.
- Customer Services – Greets customers, answers questions, opens and transfers customer’s accounts, takes payments and assists with any additional inquires.
- Finance Assistants – Performs a variety of moderately complex tasks which may include bookkeeping tasks in preparing, recording and examining fiscal records, payroll and human resources responsibilities as well as backing up customer service.

The City Manager’s Office runs a continuous advertisement for the following departments:
- Public Works – Water and Sewer distribution and collection lines, road maintenance, and other assignments
- Inmate Work Squads – supervision of inmate work squads on assigned tasks throughout the City
- Gas – Handles the city’s distribution system, leak detection, line location, and other assignments
- Electric – electrical distribution, pole replacements, tree trimming as necessary
- Water & Wastewater Treatment
- Metering – reading water meters, meter change outs, new customer accounts
