Bob Milner became the City Manager for the City of Starke on March 1, 2017. Mr. Milner spent his formative years in the farming community of Cherry Lake in Madison County along with his parents and 5 brothers. He has lived in Starke since 1969 and is a 1971 graduate of Bradford High School. He also graduated from Lake City Community College and the University of Central Florida where he recieved his BA Degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration. In 1997, Bob graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia where he was selected by the other 250 attendees to be the Class Speaker.
During a 35 year career in Corrections and Law Enforcement, Bob worked for the Bradford County School system, the Florida Dept. of Corrections, Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement , and retired after serving as the elected Sheriff of Bradford County for 16 years. He also had previous stints as a Starke City Commissioner and Chairman of the North Central Florida Regional Planning Council. He is currently an active participant in his church, the Bradford County Food Pantry, Economic Development Authority, Bradford High School Alumni Association and the Kiwanis Club of Starke where he is a 40 year Charter member.
Bob and his wife Carol have two grown children and four grandchildren. When not working, Bob participates in competitive pistol shooting and he and Carol ride their beloved Harley motorcycle.
